The High Point Pregnancy Care Center is a nonprofit organization that serves women and families making decisions about their pregnancies. They also provide emotional and material support for new mothers. The best part is, they are able to share the love of Jesus with anyone who walks in the door! Our Sunday School class has done service projects for the Pregnancy Care Center in the past and Dylan loved helping us! So when we heard a few days ago that the High Point Pregnancy Care Center is in desperate need of diapers, we wanted to help!
This morning I asked Dylan if he would like come up with a plan to collect money and/or diaper donations for the Pregnancy Care Center. He could barely contain his excitement. Within minutes he had diapers, wagons, tape, markers, paper, and lots of ideas. Within ten minutes we were making the following video for "Dylan' Diaper Doozie!"
This evening Dylan wanted to walk around the neighborhood with his little wagon and ask all our neighbors for donations. I was floored by his confidence. He went right up to each door and told them exactly what we were doing. Everyone was touched by his little speech and they loved his diaper hat! When we got back home we counted the donations. He got $80.16 and 4 diapers! He was a little bumbed because his goal was $100 but I kept trying to explain that we aren't done yet! I'm so proud of my little guy! He has such a kind heart!

He raised $80.16!! YAY! |
Today I am thankful for Dylan's willingness and desire to be the hands and feet of Christ! When he said his prayers tonight he asked God to let the diapers we are able to donate be perfect for the families that need them. He also prayed that those families would learn about Jesus. I love that he wants to be helpful but even more, I love that he is also doing it for the right reasons! I am also thankful for our neighbors. They were patient and kind as we knocked on each door. I honestly couldn't believe he raised $80.16 by walking around the neighborhood! Don't be fooled, there are some generous people still out there! And hey, a little boy wearing a diaper hat can persuade even a grouch to be generous!
Dylan is planning to wear a diaper all day when he reaches his goal of $100 or 100 diapers. One of our family friends, Jordan Stowe, has agreed to wear an adult diaper for a day if Dylan raises $500! That would be a hoot!
Anyone that would like to donate, please send your donations to 2021 Carlisle Way, High Point, NC 27265. Checks can be made to the Pregnancy Care Center of High Point.
