A Doozie of a Day!
We had a big yard sale and lemonade stand at our house this morning. Even though it rained, I could not have asked for a better finale to Dylan's Diaper Doozie! We had a great turn out and a lot of fun. There were several people that drove from surrounding cities just to have some lemonade and give a donation. There were also a few families that brought diapers! Dylan ended up receiving $175 in donations and 3 packages of diapers! We were also shocked with another opportunity to be on WFMY News 2!
After we got every thing cleaned up and counted all the donations, we took a trip to SAMS to buy a whole lot of diapers! This was definitely Dylan's favorite part! He truly enjoyed picking out the diapers, putting them on the cart, paying for them and packing them in the car. I think my favorite part was watching my five year old son willingly give away hundreds of dollars for babies he doesn't even know! He never asked, not once, to buy something for himself!
When we got home we made a "huge stack" of diapers (as Dylan called it). Once we got it all arranged, Dylan sat in the chair we constructed. He was so happy!
Dylan's Diaper Doozie officially reached the $1,000 mark tonight! WAHOO!!!! We'll most likely get more donations but as of tonight, Dylan will be donating 2,596 diapers and 2,176 wipes on Monday (plus lots of checks that were made out to the pregnancy care center.) It's amazing how this little guy had a goal and God came through times 10!
Today I am thankful for the generous folks who came out to support Dylan's cause. He couldn't have done it without all of you! I am also grateful that God has used the Diaper Doozie to show me how often I expect so little when God is able to much more than I could ever imagine! Why do we ever doubt? Why do we ever put limitations on our BIG God? He is able and willing to do more than we can even dream of! The Diaper Doozie is proof!
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21
