He meets you where you are....

We heard an amazing testimony today at church. One thing that really spoke to me from the inspiring story is that God meets us right where we are! Whatever need we have, regardless of what we are going through, no matter what we have done in the past, God meets us right where we are!

That is such good news for all of us. I know so many people right now that are hurting. I have many friends who are dealing with scary circumstances, overwhelming grief, struggling marriages, fear that almost consumes them, and even life-threatening illnesses. Each of us is dealing with something different but regardless of what is going on in our lives, God is right beside us. He is pursuing us and loving us.  If we feel like God is no where to be found, its probably because we aren't truly looking for Him. God is always willing to meet us right where we are.

I've seen it in my own life many times before but most recently, I have seen God meeting others right where they are. Even when it has seemed like my prayers have gone unheard, God has been at work, meeting these precious souls right in the middle of their circumstances; wooing them and drawing them to Himself.

Today I am thankful that God meet us right where we are. He knows us so intimately and is never too busy for us. He knows exactly what we need, when we need it. He cares so much for us. We are never playing hide and seek with God. He is never far away from us. What a gift to know that there is no place too far, no situation too horrible, no stronghold too powerful, no sickness too advanced, no sin too bad, and no person too desperate for God. He is meeting us right where we are, no matter what!

"O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. You hem me in--behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?  If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there." Psalm 139:1-8
