Gone Fishin' (in our pond!)

Since the first time we walked in our house while house hunting, Bryan thought it would be so much fun to be able to fish in the pond that is right beside the house. As soon as we moved in, we found out the pond was empty. He wanted to stock the pond but we decided to wait. Earlier this spring, Bryan researched and found out what we needed to start populating the pond. It started with just a couple of bags of tiny fish. Some of the neighborhood kids were super excited  to help release the fish! We all knew it would be a while until the fish were big enough for us to go fishing but everyone was thrilled to start populating the pond!

Today, we went fishing in our little pond for the first time! The boys (and Bryan) were so excited!  The fish still aren't full grown but they have had babies and they've made the pond look SO much better so we know they've been eating! It didn't take long at all for them to catch their first fish!!

There it is! Their first catch!

Today I am thankful for a sweet evening watching my boys fish in "our" pond. It technically belongs to the neighborhood but it's right next to us so we get to enjoy it often! It was so exciting to watch Bryan fish with his boys in the stocked pond. His dream was fulfilled! I am also grateful for the way God's creation continues to amaze me! When I look at the pictures from spring when we first put the fish in the pond, I realize how yucky that pond really was. Now, looking at today's photos, I am blown away by how much the fish have helped clear it up. The different types of fish that we put in the pond have made it crystal clear! Only God could create something so amazing!
