Glory to Glory

If you've read my book, you'll probably remember the white house beside the pond. Our family moved into this lovely home in 2014, all because of God's goodness and His faithfulness to us. This house was our "promised land," in many ways. We believed this would be our forever home. Since 2014 we have added two more little people to our family and I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that causes me to experience some really hard days physically. The stairs in our home are abnormally steep and there are no bedrooms on the first floor. We've also outgrown this house, so we realized we would eventually need to move to a different home. We weren't looking for a new home just yet but when God said it was time, we decided to say, "yes!"

Tonight is our last night on Georgia Pond Lane. The movers arrive tomorrow to remove all the furniture from our white house beside the pond. It's bittersweet saying goodbye to this home. We have so many wonderful memories here and God has grown us in so many beautiful ways. I'm really going to miss this place.

Part of me has wondered, "Why God would have us leave our promised land?"

As I was packing today, I couldn't get the words from a song out of my mind.
"From glory to glory, You tell our story," are lyrics from the song We Rise by Cageless Birds. That song playing over and over in my mind caused me to spend some time studying 2 Corinthians 3:18 which says, "We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit."

I gleaned something from this verse today that I've never noticed before. As believers, we are always moving from glory to glory. God doesn't desire a stagnate life for us. He created and designed lives for us that move from glory to glory. In 2014, the glory we were moving to was the white house beside the pond. God had so many things in store for us in this home. Things that I am eternally grateful for.

In 2021, its time for us to move from that glory to a new glory. I believe God has so many amazing things planned for us in the new home. It is the next step of glory for our family and I am so excited to see all that He has in store for us!

It's so easy for us to get comfortable and resistant to change. It can feel like something is wrong if we're walking away from a good thing, even though its quite possible that God has something even better in store for us. I am so grateful for nudge we were given by the One who has such good plans for us. I hate to say goodbye to this "promised land," but I trust that the new level of glory is going to be better than I could ever imagine.

Thank you, Father!
From glory to glory, YOU tell our story.
Here's to the next chapter in our story.
