Real-Life
Yesterday a few of my friends posted some beautiful pictures of their kids at a sunflower farm. I absolutely love sunflowers so I immediately wanted to take my kids to the sunflower farm and take their pictures also. So, this morning Bryan and I took the kids to Dewberry farm. The sunflowers were beautiful and it was a gorgeous morning. We kept trying to get a good photo but these were the best we could get......
They're lovely, huh?
I'm not gonna lie, I was so aggravated. My friends that posted the pictures also have 3 or 4 kids, and they ended up with stunning photos in front of the sunflowers. Why were all of my kids screaming, crying, and hiding their faces in our pictures? Why can't I get one decent picture in front of one of my favorite flowers?
The more I've thought about these pictures throughout the day, the more I realized that these are true expressions of real-life with my family. Yes, we often have great days, like the perfect, posed and lovely picture. But, we also have days that aren't so good, much like the duds you see above. It's just real-life. Every picture can't be a good one. Every day can't be wonderful. We're all human and we're a family.
Today I am grateful for real-life with my family. It's not always glamorous and perfect but its our life. I love these imperfect people to infinity! They are everything to me! I praise my Father in Heaven for these real-life days we get spend together! Whether the day is gorgeous or hideous, it is a day that He has given us to be together.
Tori my friend, you are so right, and I will tell you from experience, there is nothing more precious, than looking back on imperfect pictures and remembering. One, how at the time it seem so important.....2, how you actually thought you could "make that happen"..... 3. That just like you said, what you have captured, is all the personality of your babies at this moment. If you think about ., down the road, if you had "perfect" pictures, that's what you would have.... but with these, you have a great story, you can tell and hang over their heads for years!!!Lol
