My Counselor
A couple of days ago I heard someone on the radio say something that hasn't ever occurred to me. She said, "When times are difficult and we aren't sure how to handle situations, we can go to Jesus, afterall, He is our Counselor." "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 I've heard Jesus referred to as Counselor numerous times. I've read the verses that refer to Him as Counselor, too. I've just always been taught that this word was interchangable with lawyer or attorney. That's a comforting thought too. Jesus is defending us, like a lawyer would defend his client. I've need that analogy many times as well.
